What this website and the WLP chat app collect, where it stays, and how to remove it. Last updated .

In short

This website

Sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies. Its fonts are served from this site.

The app, today

A research build. It keeps everything on your device and sends nothing over a network.

Always

The WLP chat app never asks for your phone number or email, and never reads your contacts.

Who is responsible

WLP chat is a product in research. The organisation that will act as data controller for the live pilot will be named on this page before the pilot collects any personal data. Until then, write to hello@wlpchat.example with any privacy question.

This website

We do not set cookies or use local storage, tracking pixels, analytics scripts, social media embeds or web fonts from a third party. You will not see a cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

This site is hosted by Vercel. Its servers keep standard request logs, such as your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser’s user agent, to keep the site running and to stop abuse. We do not combine these logs with anything else.

The pilot and support forms

When you send the pilot or support form, your answers (your email address, what you typed and what you chose) go to this site’s server, which emails them to the study team through Resend, an email delivery service. Resend processes the message only to deliver it. If the server cannot send it, nothing is stored: the page prepares the same message in your own email app, and you decide whether to send it.

We use your email only to answer you and, for a pilot request, to follow up about the pilot. Ask us to delete yours at any time at hello@wlpchat.example.

Vercel and Resend are companies based in the United States, so form messages and request logs may be processed there.

Machine-readable copies

Every page is also published as plain Markdown (add index.md to its address), together with llms.txt, so search engines and AI assistants can read it accurately. They contain the same public text as the pages and nothing about visitors.

The WLP chat app (research build 0.1.0)

The research build runs on one device and talks to nothing. This table is the same one you see in the app under Settings, Privacy and data.

Study events never record message content, room names, phone numbers or emails, precise location, contacts or advertising identifiers. They stay off unless you turn them on.

SDKs: none for analytics, advertising or crash reporting.

The build does not encrypt messages end to end. Do not treat it as a private channel.

The live pilot

The pilot will need a server to deliver messages between devices. Before it starts, this page will list exactly what that server receives, where it runs, how long it keeps each item, and which organisation is responsible. The design goals are fixed already: no phone number or email, no contact upload, no advertising identifiers, room-level sponsor counts only, and reports that carry only the evidence the reporter chose.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the European Union you can ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to how we use it, and complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). Write to hello@wlpchat.example. For the research build, you can delete everything yourself in Settings.

Adults only

WLP chat rooms are for people aged 18 and over. The app asks you to confirm your age, and says plainly that this is a self-declared check.
